The frame is now welded and rear engine mount is fitted, bottom mount is made but not welded yet, I would have got it welded tonight but her in doors is whining about the shower leaking and running down the wall in the room below apparently that’s more important…..
Anuva Update
Tack welded and off the jig, looks a bit like a motorcycle!
OK, so the last comment “Nothing stopping me now, time to start the new frame!” has not gone exactly to plan…. the borrowed Clarke pipe bender is not overly suited to bending frame tube. Image 1 shows the problem, the bender just makes a flat bend, such a bend can be made by inserting pipe under your shed and trying to lift it, not ideal. So, in a true scavenger style I have altered the way it works instead of buying a proper pipe bender (£500+) and it seems to be ok so far, see image 3, it shows the flattened bend and the new spectacular bend with added sparkly bits, I’m quite pleased.
Now for the easy bit, all I have to do is machine all the tubes to fit each other and learn how to use this bloody tig welder….simples.
“Little update, finished the engine jig tonight so I can test the fitment of an engine in my new frame without having to lift a real one in, bloody hell they are heavy…..”
