As per usual, it was the last minute rush to get bikes ready for the Festival.
Mac and Heisenburg passed around the club horn for the MOT’s – this was of course after Heisenburg had been up all night finishing his bike off.
Macs was in for MOT first and having passed was left on site for the following days show. Alex (Heisenburg) put his in for the MOT but the examiner wasn’t sure what to make of the radical suspension, the examiner wasn’t even swayed by Alex’s new custom spray job – courtesy of a piece of net curtain from his daughters wendy house and a rattle can of Orange from the bargain bin at work.
Not to be beaten , at 2pm, after being failed, Alex returned home, stripped down the front end ‘knocked up’ a brass bearing for the calliper mount and returned for a re-test before 4.30 where it passed – what a legend.
Saturday…… setting up.
Sunday ….. Showtime!
Despite this being a first for Mac, Jay and Alex together as a club they came out scoring well.
Mac got four out of five judges votes and got to ride in the Custom Parade and Alex and Jay only missed out by one vote each . Not a bad turn out considering ours are all shed built custom bikes.
The Bike that went on to win best of show was stunning – however it looked as though the owner had spent more than my house is worth on it – and (whilst I may be wrong) didn’t look the sort to spend too much time with oil under his nails.
