As a child ‘Fruit shoot’ was a huge(?) fan of the Fonz. So when he saw this bike his memories of Brando jackets, white t-shirts, turn up jeans and saying ‘Hey’ a lot came flooding back.
Yep ……… it has skulls!
Isn’t Technology great? Arrived today – Sarah’s new Battery for her Guzzi Chop. The bottom Battery is what Mr Guzzi intended – Size of a truck battery and weighs the same as a small family car! above is a Gucci little number that pumps out more power (360CCA) and would fit in your pocket and weigh the same as a packet of fags!
If your thinking of where to hide your battery – speak to ‘Anti Gravity batteries’ sound bunch of blokes and no bull sh*t.
As a treat for doing so well on her first trip out Mac treated the XS to some bling in the shape of a new fork brace to stiffen up the front end.
In addition the two into one inlet manifold made by the great mad prof was sadly treated to sand down and a coat of paint. Mac would have loved to have kept it bare brazed but the heat dispersant laquer wasn’t up to the job and it started looking scruffy.
The ‘Mad Prof’ – Never one to do things the easy way has finally been convinced to re-visit his trike project (read -pull his bl##dy finger out). The trike is pretty much all his own work from the ground up, check out the springers – all his design.
One suggestion to get it finished was to give it to Heisenburg 24 hours before the next show – when he seems to do all his best work!
Jay (Fruit shoot) sat on the trike to give it some scale – unfortunately he isn’t in scale himself so the thing looks huge!!
Slow speed front end ‘flop’ was an issue that needed addressing on Mac’s XS – resolved simply by fitting a steering damper he found amongst his ‘parts that may come in handy one day’ cupboard.
Brackley Market Place, The boys bikes on show.
Mac and Heisenburgs bikes.
The Heisenburg paint experience.
Amongst the ‘Big Boys’.
So many Beautiful bikes!
Mac in the Custom Parade.
Great friend ‘Hobbit’ – one of the very few occasions he didn’t take away a trophy!
Lamb engineering at Brackley – some cracking machinery – got to see it in the flesh!
Awaiting the winners.
And the winner is ……………… not shed built – but wow – what a beautiful bike!
Stunt Brothers – Mad!
Heisenburg taught them all they know – Ha, Ha!
So – a picture of a bloke on a bike – not so special – until –
you realise that it was the guy on the right riding the bike. Huge respect to the guy and to ‘The bike experience’ for giving people with severe disabilities the opportunity to get back in the saddle !
And a special thanks to our mates at the ‘Lids and Leathers’ park. These guys and gals worked for nothing all weekend raising money for the nominated charities – what’s more the kids went out and sold side stand pucks for 50p each and raised an additional £114.
Top Team!!
Many Thanks to Sarah – Photographer for the BFoMC for the use of her photos,
As per usual, it was the last minute rush to get bikes ready for the Festival.
Mac and Heisenburg passed around the club horn for the MOT’s – this was of course after Heisenburg had been up all night finishing his bike off.
Macs was in for MOT first and having passed was left on site for the following days show. Alex (Heisenburg) put his in for the MOT but the examiner wasn’t sure what to make of the radical suspension, the examiner wasn’t even swayed by Alex’s new custom spray job – courtesy of a piece of net curtain from his daughters wendy house and a rattle can of Orange from the bargain bin at work.
Not to be beaten , at 2pm, after being failed, Alex returned home, stripped down the front end ‘knocked up’ a brass bearing for the calliper mount and returned for a re-test before 4.30 where it passed – what a legend.
Saturday…… setting up.
Sunday ….. Showtime!
Despite this being a first for Mac, Jay and Alex together as a club they came out scoring well.
Mac got four out of five judges votes and got to ride in the Custom Parade and Alex and Jay only missed out by one vote each . Not a bad turn out considering ours are all shed built custom bikes.
The Bike that went on to win best of show was stunning – however it looked as though the owner had spent more than my house is worth on it – and (whilst I may be wrong) didn’t look the sort to spend too much time with oil under his nails.
