As mentioned a little while ago ……. funds permitting, I was going to entrust the scavenger bike’s tank to the very talented Andy (Oakenshield) Stroud of Hairy Designs. Not because he’s a great mate, a fellow scavenger or even a fellow BFoM organiser – but as you can see below…………… there’s not many folk that can produce work like this!

Thought we’d  try our hand at some merchandise – which you can’t have! (unless you’re a Scavenger of course)

Heisenburg update

frame 7

The frame is now welded and rear engine mount is fitted, bottom mount is made but not welded yet, I would have got it welded tonight but her in doors is whining about the shower leaking and running down the wall in the room below apparently that’s more important…..

Anuva Update

Tack welded and off the jig, looks a bit like a motorcycle!

OK, so the last comment “Nothing stopping me now, time to start the new frame!” has not gone exactly to plan…. the borrowed Clarke pipe bender is not overly suited to bending frame tube. Image 1 shows the problem, the bender just makes a flat bend, such a bend can be made by inserting pipe under your shed and trying to lift it, not ideal. So, in a true scavenger style I have altered the way it works instead of buying a proper pipe bender (£500+) and it seems to be ok so far, see image 3, it shows the flattened bend and the new spectacular bend with added sparkly bits, I’m quite pleased.

Now for the easy bit, all I have to do is machine all the tubes to fit each other and learn how to use this bloody tig welder….simples.

“Little update, finished the engine jig tonight so I can test the fitment of an engine in my new frame without having to lift a real one in, bloody hell they are heavy…..”

“Nothing stopping me now, time to start the new frame!”

Make do and mend!

Another fine example of Scavenger mentality – ‘Jimmy the weasel’ had  mismatched BSA A10 Engine casings – enter Heisenburg and his warped sense of Recycling and ‘hey presto’ jobs a good ‘un.

Heisenburg took delivery of his new donor bike for his 2015  project today……… watch out for great (and interesting) things to come!

Guzzi 003

Sarah’s Guzzi frame came home today, all shiney – time to start putting her back together again (the Guzzi). Trying to assemble it properly instead using the threaded bar and chewing gum the previous keeper had used!

Forwards – nearly there

Ed's B'day 004

Nearly there – then time for new pipes!!

Jig

The Heisenburg project continues…………. not one to go about things the ‘easy way’ he popped down to Ozzy, picked up some steel and knocked up his own jig – proper project!

Heisenburgs new project

alexnewproject

From a tiny acorn a mighty oak… etc etc.

Ever bought something and thought….. that’d look good on a chop/ bobber/ café racer? – just what Heisenburg did – one wheel and a project is born!!

New Forwards (mock up)

xs forwards 1 (2)

Mock up of the forwards going on the ‘Scavenger bike’ using a couple of bits of threaded bar and some imagination!
