If you need a tank sorting – take it to Wolfy at Farthinghoe. Stunning work (you want to see some of the exhausts he’s made – I’d have them on display as sculptures!!) Any way – he cut off the hideous flap mount and sunk in a Harley neck to accommodate this push and rotate filler cap. – time to get the filler and sand paper out.
Sarah’s Electrics………….. time to get all this ……………..
Into this…………….. She wanted her bike to look like a WW2 dispatch rider / apocalyptic survival bike……….. so be rude not to use an ammo box!
Mac has said goodbye to the ‘Marmite bike’ and it’s off to pastures new.
As a treat to himself – and an acknowledgement that he’s getting too old to be scrabbling about on the floor imbedding screws in his knees, he bought himself a lift with the cash………. yum!!
You don’t get this sort of precision engineering from your usual high street motorcycle boutique.
Fruitshoot’s pipes for his xs needed some gentle persuasion and Heisenburg is just the man with the ‘ology’ in pipe bending!
This is Josh – the ‘mad profs’ boy. Josh had a major off on his motocross bike 13 months ago and ended up paralysed from the chest down.
After meeting the guys and girls from the ‘Bike Experience’, Mac asked josh if he’d like to meet him up at Silverstone last week for him to see what the guys do.
Neither Mac nor Josh expected Talan (the main man) to offer (insist) Josh a ride as soon as he tipped up.
At this point its fair to say that josh is now officially our hero of the first order. No winging or whining from this boy – oh no – he was straight into a set of borrowed leathers and with the help of a launch crew and catch crew was straight in there.
We’ll make no apologies for the number of pictures of this event. The experience was truly humbling.
Josh was strapped onto the bike, made a couple of runs to and from his support teams and then he was off – ragging it around the circuit leaving the ‘guide’ struggling to keep up !
Truly impressed!
Josh – on the bike and taking some advice from Talan (also paralysed from the chest down and I understand also a demon on a bike)
This is Josh after his first ride to and from his launch team – whilst you can’t see the smile – look at the eyes!!
Off again!
Bigger smile!
Stopping for a break.
….. then time to pick up the pace…….
…… and faster…….
……. and faster…….
……. go on boy!…….
At the end of the day – big grins all round!
Bloody hell…… even Mac was smiling!
The team and participants!
And an arty shot courtesy of Dave Holloway (as all pics above) who helps out as photographer for the Bike Experience as well as The Brackley Festival of Motorcycling….. Thanks mate!
As a child ‘Fruit shoot’ was a huge(?) fan of the Fonz. So when he saw this bike his memories of Brando jackets, white t-shirts, turn up jeans and saying ‘Hey’ a lot came flooding back.
Yep ……… it has skulls!
Isn’t Technology great? Arrived today – Sarah’s new Battery for her Guzzi Chop. The bottom Battery is what Mr Guzzi intended – Size of a truck battery and weighs the same as a small family car! above is a Gucci little number that pumps out more power (360CCA) and would fit in your pocket and weigh the same as a packet of fags!
If your thinking of where to hide your battery – speak to ‘Anti Gravity batteries’ sound bunch of blokes and no bull sh*t.
As a treat for doing so well on her first trip out Mac treated the XS to some bling in the shape of a new fork brace to stiffen up the front end.
In addition the two into one inlet manifold made by the great mad prof was sadly treated to sand down and a coat of paint. Mac would have loved to have kept it bare brazed but the heat dispersant laquer wasn’t up to the job and it started looking scruffy.
The ‘Mad Prof’ – Never one to do things the easy way has finally been convinced to re-visit his trike project (read -pull his bl##dy finger out). The trike is pretty much all his own work from the ground up, check out the springers – all his design.
One suggestion to get it finished was to give it to Heisenburg 24 hours before the next show – when he seems to do all his best work!
Jay (Fruit shoot) sat on the trike to give it some scale – unfortunately he isn’t in scale himself so the thing looks huge!!
